    The dragging coefficient had to be introduced as a compensating effect, to account for the fact that there was no difference in the angle of aberration with air and with water in the telescope in Airy's experiment and the fact that no fringe shift was observed in the experiments of Hoek and of Jamin and Mascart. But the introduction of the Fresnel drag coefficient is superfluous, because if the Fresnel coefficient is NOT used for both telescopes, they would both still produce the same aberration, as seen from the rest system of the observer (Earth). This only demonstrates the (relativistically) trivial fact that for a zero angle of incidence (normal incidence) the angle of refraction is zero, too”
